Overview

Aerotek has an immediate opening for a Worker's Compensation Supervisor at the corporate office in Hanover, MD. 

 

OVERVIEW

The Workers' Compensation Supervisor will preserve company assets via management of Workers' Compensation claims, as well as develop design and implementation of procedures, processes, and controls, required for managing Workers Compensation claims for Aerotek/Actalent/Aston Carter.  Will oversee the daily activities of the Workers Compensation department. This includes direct supervision of the Claims Review Specialist, Return to Work Specialist and Compliance Analyst.  Will be responsible for identifying loss trends and creating processes to mitigate those trends. Will set and manage performance requirements for the team. 

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Provide ongoing training on workers’ compensation process including investigation, claims management and follow-through
  • Perform monthly audit of team’s calls, claims management and documentation
  • Drive excellent performance from your team that will bring sustain superior customer service and response time
  • Measure performance with key metrics such as calls abandonment, call waiting, etc.
  • Assist with development of strategies to increase overall productivity rates
  • Ensure adherence to polices for attendance and schedule.
  • Ensures that Claim Management team and adjudicates claims according to insurance industry standards, TPA’s best practices and state laws
  • Prepare monthly/annual results and performance reports
  • Provides reporting on TPA efficiency benchmarks
  • Coordinates claim reviews and claim audits
  • Supports the partnership with Regional Safety Managers to identify trends and opportunities for improvements in tools, training or processes and procedures.
  • Educates, trains, and assists the field office as to the workers compensation program, and their respective responsibilities in carrying out the workers compensation program
  • Monitors and updates state required medical panels and develops special handling for medical clinics used.
  • Ensure company adheres to the various state workers’ compensation laws
  • Interfaces with Clients and field offices on workers’ compensation issues
  • Maintains contact with outside law firms to ensure claims are being moved through the judicial process effectively and efficiently.
  • Oversees large loss, settlements, and reserves over Claims Review Specialist authority
  • Leads and manages special projects as assigned by Controller.
  • Performs administrative procedures including developing job descriptions, hiring, performance review and monitoring productivity.

 

SUPERVISORY OR MANAGEMENT DUTIES

This position may or may not have direct reports. In the event that an direct report is assigned, executes supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.  Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

 

QUALIFICATIONS

 Education

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Risk Management or similar field preferred or comparable combination of experience and professional certifications

 

Work Experience

  • 3+ years of experience (minimum) workers’ compensation claims management or risk management experience preferred OR
  • 2+ years of experience (minimum) prior supervisor experience in workers’ compensation required preferred

 

 Skills and Abilities

  • Knowledgeable in workers compensation claims investigation and laws.
  • Multiple Jurisdictional experience
  • Ability to lead a claims team in the oversight of the TPA

 

 

Licenses and Certifications

  • Non Clinical\ARM - Associate in Risk Management Designation preferred                                                          Or
  • Non Clinical\AIC - Associate in Claims Designation preferred                                               Or
  • Non Clinical\CPCU - Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter Designation preferred  
  • Similar Industry-Related certification                             

 

 

Per Pay Transparency Acts: The range for this position is $75,000 - $100,000 + annual bonus potential of $5,000
